project will be to write an analysis that compares two works of literature by English, Scottish, Welsh, North Irish, or Irish artists. One of those works must be a film from the list below that I just uploaded in Additional materials. The other is up to you or you can pick another one from the list to compare. it can be (poetry, prose, plays, another film, anything).

Your comparison may analyze these works along any number of these grounds:
1.) How do these works uphold or subvert the hero’s journey?
2.) How do these works speak British Empire’s history of colonialism?
3.) How do these works speak to the difference between the traditional and the modern?
4.) How do these works speak to any of the issues/themes of religion, race, class, gender, love, camaraderie, fear, death we’ve discussed in class (or that you’ve experienced in your own life)?
